Kaggle is an online community of data scientists as well as machine learning engineers where data science competitions can be hosted, solved, or challenged.
Airbnb operates as an online marketplace primarily for homestays for vacation rentals as well as tourism activities where property owners can rent out their spaces for travelers.
The Challenge:
Competed in an in-class competition of over 40 students with the ultimate goal of accurately predicting Airbnb rental prices by leveraging various statistical modeling methods using the provided dataset.
The Action:
Demonstrated expertise in data exploration, data cleaning, feature selection, and feature engineering. Constructed various supervised machine learning models, including regressions, random forest, ranger, XGBoost, etc., to construct a model with the most accurate results.
The Result:
Placed first place on the public leader-board and second place on the private leader-board in a class of over 40 students and obtained the lowest RSME in the class.
